I am an artist, a wife, a mother and the Founding Executive Director of Gallery5, a non profit visual and performing community arts center located inside of a National Historic Landmark in Richmond, Virginia.

I have put my own creative passions on hold for the past 7 years to see my organization’s mission come to life. I have a background in painting and sculpting, but have a new passion for playing Susie Homemaker in my free time. I am currently in the process of transitioning from my 7 year commitment to my non-profit, to doing Sweet Fix and my art full time.

About Me and Sweet Fix:
I am a self-taught baker, cake decorator and event stylist with a passion for homemade, handcrafted and completely original designs. Sweet Fix is home-based sole-proprietorship that operates out of a fully licensed, inspected and newly renovated kitchen.

I make all of my desserts from scratch, using only the highest quality, ALL-natural ingredients. My fillings are made with fresh seasonal fruits, gourmet chocolates and liqueurs. I DO NOT use shortening, imitation extracts or any other processed ingredients typically found in most baked goods. My homemade Italian Meringue Buttercream is the creamiest, smoothest and tastiest buttercream imaginable!

While I always share in the vision of my clients, I will not copy an existing cake decorator or designer. My love for, and experience in, the visual arts makes the need for unique, custom designs of ultimate importance. I work closely with my clients to understand their event style and request that they share with me any photos of other designs that inspire them, as well as selected color and fabric swatches, flowers, table decor, favors, and other visual elements. Through these elements, I develop designs that both compliment my client’s event and insure that their desserts and displays are always “one-of-a-kind”. Inspiration is key!

All of my cake toppers are completely hand-crafted from fondant and sugar paste and I am happy to offer the option of custom clay toppers so that my clients may hold onto the memories forever. In addition to my custom cakes, I devote hours to the theme development, design, creation, printing and collection of all visual display elements for my dessert tables and styling including but not limited to; labels, cards, favors, edibles, backdrops, floral arrangements, table decor, servingware, packaging, etc.

Operating my business from home allows me to be truly involved in every aspect
of your custom desserts, displays and decor.
